William M. Walter
Founder & Managing Partner
Bill’s journey to found CCG started with over two decades of comprehensive construction experience, he stands as a seasoned leader recognized for his expertise and innovation within the construction industry. He comes from a longstanding heritage within the construction industry, spanning over six generations of family history and experience in general, civil and specialty trade construction across multiple companies throughout the US Northeast and Midwest. His career trajectory is marked by the success of navigating the challenges of running two multi-generation, family-owned and operated construction companies with combined annual revenues near $100M. As an executive, Bill demonstrated the ability to manage and build teams to streamline operations, optimize resources, and foster collaborative relationships, resulting in the successful execution of numerous complex projects. He is widely respected for his strategic vision, keen problem-solving skills, and unwavering dedication to delivering superior results. With an established reputation of leadership and a deep understanding of the construction process, he continues to be a driving force in shaping the future of construction.
As a Professional EOS Implementer® with a focus on construction companies, Bill brings a transformative approach to organizational management and growth. With a keen understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that only someone forged from the construction industry could know, he leverages the EOS® framework to drive tangible results and sustainable success. It’s one thing to teach something, but another to have lived it, that’s what sets Bill apart – he and his team went through the EOS® Implementation journey first-hand while operating two construction companies. With his “real world” knowledge of EOS®, Bill empowers construction firms to establish clear vision, enhance team alignment, and cultivate a culture of accountability and execution. Their hands-on approach fosters effective communication, efficient processes, and strategic prioritization, enabling construction businesses to navigate complexities with agility and confidence. With a proven track record of guiding companies through implementation and optimization of EOS®, Bill is recognized as a trusted advisor and catalyst for lasting change within the construction sector.
Bill is a staunch advocate for the advancement of the construction industry, dedicated to furthering its growth and development. He currently serves in leadership positions with the Associated General Contractors of America. At the national level he sits on the AGC Board of Directors and AGC Specialty Contractors Committee in which he has engagement at the local chapter level as the Associate Delegate on the Central Illinois Builders Chapter Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He served on multiple MCAA and PHCC boards, committees and task force teams including local labor union JATC programs and trustee positions.
With a focus on positive government relations and legislation, Bill has served as a representative for construction industry advancement at the local, state, and federal levels. He served as the Vice President and President of the Illinois Construction Industry Committee and was appointed to the Illinois Capital Development Board Industry Advisory Committee leading multiple task force initiatives.
Bill is a graduate of Bethel University. He and his wife Ruthie have been married for 15 years and have three children, Emma (10), Adelaide (8) and Austin (6). They are engaged in multiple sports and recreational programs, which keeps the family busy.
Devon R. Izard
Managing Director
Devon Izard brings institutional investing and asset management experience to the CCG team. His responsibilities include identification of potential investments, investment analysis, management of existing assets, strategy development, and industry analysis. He has been working with institutional investors and agricultural operators for the last decade.
Mr. Izard also founded Telos Capital in 2022. Telos Capital is an investment group focused on the agricultural industry. Partnering with investors and agricultural professionals to place capital in prime farmland as well as offering debt to help fulfill liquidity needs to farm operators. Previous to Telos Capital, Mr. Izard was the Director of Investments at Venusia Agricultural Investments, a firm focused on institutional asset management of agricultural assets in North and South America. Mr. Izard has experience with investing in over $300M of agricultural assets in North and South America along with management of that portfolio of assets. These agricultural assets included tree nuts (almonds, pistachios, and hazelnuts), citrus, blueberries, winegrapes and avocados.
Mr. Izard holds an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Devon and his wife Shannon live in Indianapolis and enjoy their free time with their many animals consisting of two dogs and two horses.
John Gengler
John has over 30 years of business ownership, executive management, sales & operations management, staffing & recruitment, and consulting experience across multiple industries domestically and internationally. A consistent theme across all of these roles was identifying unmet opportunities, pulling together the appropriate investors and resources to meet those needs, putting a deal structure in place that rewarded all stakeholders, and managing the relationships through to success.
John is also currently the Founder & Managing Director of the Businesses Owners Resource Network; Co-founder, Co-host and Co-sponsor of the Owners Forum; and an independent advisor to several private family offices, Private Equity investors and Wealth Management organizations. Previously, John was an Executive Director with ForteONE, and a Co-founder & Principal with Pangent, QuickRamp Ventures and eJobs.com. John served as an officer in the United States Army for over a decade while attending and after graduating from the University of Iowa with an honors degree in Global Studies; with an emphasis on War, Peace and Diplomacy issues and the Western European theater.
In his limited off time, John helps run the family farm in Amish country in Southwestern Kentucky with his 2 daughters. John is Chairman of the service dog training business his oldest daughter runs, focused on German Shepherd companions for 1st Responders and Veterans dealing with PTSD.
